WHEN YOU SUPPORT ALLEN ISD's LOVE WEEK YOU ARE DIRECTLY HELPING LOCAL FAMILIES IN NEED
From one of Sherri's nominations:
"Sherri Kirby taught 1st grade at Chandler Elementary for several years. She is the sweetest, most loving person I know. She has touched so many lives as a teacher, but also as a friend, wife, mother, daughter. Kirby is a friend to all and such a kind, generous soul. She is always doing things for others and sprinkling sunshine wherever she goes. She makes the world a better place just by being in the room! She was diagnosed with breast cancer several years ago and beat it. Last year it came back with a vengenace and she had to quit teaching to take care of her health."
In November, the Love Week committee selected Sherri as the 2020 recipient. Unfortunately, in December, Sherri lost her battle with cancer but Allen continues to honor her memory as the Love Week nominee for 2020.
